Please briefly describe these three summary calculation options and provide an example of when it would be used: Average, Minimum, and Maximum.

What will be an ideal response?

-Average: Averages all the numbers in the selected cells.
Example (Answers will vary):  I would use this option if I was a teacher and had a list of all the student's grades (i.e. 2.9, 3.7, 4.0) throughout the semester and I wanted to calculate the final grade.

-Minimum: Shows the smallest number in the selected cells.
Example (Answers will vary): I would use this option if I was a librarian and had a list of children with their ages who signed up for story time. I would choose Minimum to see the age of the youngest child so that I can plan what book to read.

-Maximum: Shows the largest number in the selected cells.
Example (Answers will vary): I would use this option if I was a meteorologist and had a list of rainfall for each month over the last ten years. In order to tell if the current month broke the record for the most rainfall I would compare it to the Maximum.
