Curriculum and its components

In the process of discussing curriculum, the text notes four broad components. Define "curriculum" and the four components, giving at least one textbook example of each. Then provide at least one original example of each of the four aspects related to your field of interest.

What will be an ideal response?

ANS: Scoring guide:

Key elements that should appear in an appropriate response:

* For full credit for the first part of the assignment, the student should define curriculum and each of its components (explicit, implicit, null, and extracurriculum) and provide at least one example of each from the chapter. Lack of clarity or incompleteness can result in the deducting of points.
* For the second part of the assignment, the student must offer at least one example of each of the four types of curricula as it relates to his or her major field. The quality of the response should result in either added or subtracted points. Additional high quality examples also merit additional points.
