What will be an ideal response?
The process of making amends is aimed at creating inter- and intrapersonal peace. The purpose is for introspection and allows the individual to gain insight into past actions, take responsibility for harmful behaviors, and seek forgiveness from those that they have harmed in the past. In Step 8, the individual lists the persons they harmed during their addiction. In Step 9, the individual makes direct amends to persons on list. Step 10 consists of the individual continuing with personal inventory and promptly makes amends when necessary. It is also important that individuals engage in self-forgiveness.
