Answer: Cardiorespiratory endurance is a function of the body's ability to supply muscles with oxygen and fuel, while muscle endurance is the ability of muscles to continue contractions without fatigue. Cardiorespiratory endurance depends on the health of the heart, vasculature (arteries and veins), and lungs in order to pump a sufficient volume of blood through the body, properly distribute the blood to our tissues, and provide for adequate oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange. Muscular endurance depends on the slow twitch muscles having well-developed myoglobin supplies and mitochondria to enable sufficient ATP production.
