How do the needs discussed by Rogers compare with those discussed by Fromm? By Maslow?
What will be an ideal response?
Rogers’s maintenance needs are similar to Fromm’s animal needs and Maslow’s physiological needs, as they are all concerned with obtaining items we need in order to survive: food, water, etc. Rogers’s enhancement need can be seen as similar to Fromm’s transcendence need (the need for purposefulness, freedom, and creativity) and Maslow’s actualization need, both of which motivate people to achieve more, to grow. Rogers’s needs for positive regard and self-regard are similar to Maslow’s esteem needs, which would include both of these concepts.
