Give an example of how knowledge about language affects how we perceive speech. Be sure to explain what processes are involved in your example.

What will be an ideal response?

The phonemic restoration effect is one demonstration of how our knowledge of languages affects the way we perceive speech. If we hear someone speaking but some of the speech sounds are missing or obscured, our brains can determine what those sounds are based on context and our knowledge of the language and insert the missing sounds into what we "hear," often so seamlessly that we are not aware it is occurring.
