These are applied to the client's body or used as aromatherapy during the various treatments and can include muds, clays, seaweed, peat, creams, gels, exfoliation substances (e.g., salt, sugar, ground coffee), essential oils, herbs and other plants (for herbal infusions), and paraffin.
? Supplies needed during the performance of treatments. These can include plastic wrap to cover paraffin after it has been applied to the client's body, disposable undergarments for clients, disposable spatulas to mix substances, and so forth.
? Toiletries. They can include body washes, bath scrubbies and shower footwear, deodorant, shampoo, hair conditioner, hair spray, hair gel, combs, cotton swabs, and cotton balls. It may be the responsibility of practitioners to make sure these items are readily available for client use, or it may be a duty of other spa staff.
? Cleaning supplies. These are necessary for hygiene and sanitation and can include rubbing alcohol, bleach, and other sanitizers and disinfectants.
Another item spas should have readily available for staff to use is disposable gloves when there is danger of contamination from coming in contact with any body fluids.
