Describe how one might engage in perception checking
What will be an ideal response?
Perception checking involves asking others for clarification and/or validation of your
perceptions. In order to check my perceptions, I should use descriptive language to describe
the behaviors I am encountering. Next, I should suggest possible reasons for the behaviors I am
encountering. Finally, I should ask for clarification. Perception checking helps us to know
whether our perceptions of the behavior of others are accurate.
