Explain three ways in which human trafficking occurs.

What will be an ideal response?

Forced labor—typically involves immigrants and migrant workers that are in need
of employment. Due to their illegal status, they are often taken advantage of,
threatened, and in some cases, physically abused. Debt bondage—victim must pay off
a debt through labor. Debt may be inherited as a result of the actions of other family
members or may be acquired in response for employment, transportation, housing or
board. Sex trafficking—Traffickers use several methods to manipulate women and girls
into the sex trade and prey on their poor economic standing and desires for improving
their financial status. In some cases, women may be kidnapped or abducted, although
these tactics are rare compared to the majority of cases, which involve lies, deceit, and
trickery to collect its victims
