A randomly selected sample is always representative.

Answer the following statement true (T) or false (F)

False

Randomly selecting a sample can be very useful when attempting to get a representative sample (a sample that closely resembles the actual population). Randomly selected examples may not always be representative simply due to chance. It can also be very difficult to obtain a random sample. In such cases, a pollster may attempt to purposely select those with underrepresented characteristic prevalent in the population. This is known as weighting the sample.
