What are the dangers of relying on social media as a source of information?
What will be an ideal response?
Not everyone on social media follows the same rules and standards that apply to journalists. Some users, known as trolls, will intentionally harass other users and knowingly post false information as a kind of game. Others will pass along unfounded rumors or false claims simply because they did not take the time to fact check the story. If a reporter repeats information from either of these types of users, he or she stands to lose credibility in the eyes of the audience.
