What is wrong with energy drinks?
What will be an ideal response?
Many popular energy drinks (e.g. Red Bull, SoBe Adrenaline Rush, Full Throttle, and Rip It Energy Fuel) are high in sugar and calories. They also contain herbal extracts touted to "boost" energy, increase overall energy metabolism, improve endurance, and lose weight. Herbals are not regulated by the FDA and little is scientifically known of their benefits, if any. High amounts of caffeine causes the body to excrete nutrients, including water, and continually requires more (physical tolerance) to get the desired "high" the first can generated. This "high" also can be psychologically addicting.
