What are the two main goals of recruitment?
What will be an ideal response?
Recruitment of police officers has two main goals. The first is to create a pool of applicants that includes the best and most diverse group of applicants that would be suited for a career in law enforcement. With a larger, and more diverse pool of applicants to choose from, the agency will have a better chance at hiring high-quality candidates. Second is to create a pool of applicants that are willing to work for the individual agency conducting the recruitment. Not all departments offer the same benefits, pay, work environment, chances for advancement, and so on. So even if an individual is interested in a career in policing, the agency has to attract candidates that are interested in their particular department.
