What are the basic differences between the fitness-based model [ 3] and the varying intrinsic fitness-based model [ 4]? Distinguish these two models in the light of analytical determination of scaling exponents. Compare the above evolution models with the preferential attachment– based model.

For the first two parts, please refer to Tables 5.1 and 5.2
Please see Sections 5.6 and 5.7 for more details. Also refer to [3] and [4] for further details of
the analytical modeling and the determination of the scaling exponents.
In case of the preferential attachment-based model, nodal fitness is not considered in the
analytical determination of the scaling exponent. Therefore, the major difference between
the BA model and the other two models (i.e., fitness-based and varying intrinsic fitness-based
models) discussed here is as follows: In BA model, the chance of attracting more links in a
evolving network depends on aging. That is, nodes which are introduced earlier in a network
get more chances to become hub nodes. However, in real-world networks, fitness plays a major
role in the process of network evolution.
