What are ways in which pre-assessment benefits teachers? How does pre-assessment benefit learners?

What will be an ideal response?

Pre-assessment helps teachers to plan better lessons, increases instructional effectiveness, helps teachers understand their impact, and promotes connection to learners. Pre-assessment helps give students input regarding what will be learned, provides introduction to anticipated learning, and promotes awareness of the boundaries of existing knowledge and skills. (From Figure 4-2, Benefits of Assessment).
