How does an investigator prepare for an interview or an interrogation?
What will be an ideal response?
The interrogator must learn as much as possible about the offense, the victim(s), and the suspect(s) through the process of collecting, assessing, and analyzing data and theorizing about the motivations and thought processes of the suspect. This begins the formulation of a profile, which will then dictate the initial approach the interrogator will take upon first contacting the suspect.
