How might the shape and orientation of the coastline increase or decrease

the impact of the storm surge? What will be an ideal response?

The shape and orientation of the coastline can cause the storm surge to spread out over
a broader area, such as when the coastline curves outward or is at an angle to the surge.
However, when the coastline curves inward or the surge strikes the coast head-on, the
surge can become focused and its impact increases.
