When preparing to develop an effective persuasive presentation, identifying the arguments pro and con is important. How can a writer do that?
What will be an ideal response
The writer can draw argument and decision maps. For each option, work backward from conclusion to reasons and then to reasons for the reasons. Dig out the implicit and explicit assumptions. Diagram and color-code the counterarguments and statements that reveal invitations to further deliberation. Note where lines of reasoning have been abandoned. Where possible, add your own additional reasons.
