Models of teaching are specialized instructional methods designed to promote specific learning goals related to required standards in the academic disciplines through the use of a specially orchestrated set of activities. Learners progress through different steps and engage in specified cognitive, psychomotor, or affective learning experiences. Some examples of Models of teaching include the Direct Instruction Model, the Concept Attainment Model, the Concept Development Model, the Inductive Model, the Vocabulary Acquisition Model, the Inquiry Model, the Problem-based Learning Model, the Cooperative Learning Model, the Integrative Model, and the Socratic Seminar Model.
