Why might pesticides that grow within a genetically modified plant be more of a concern than pesticides that are sprayed onto a conventional plant?

The answer to question one above explains how a pesticide can be placed into a plant using genetic engineering. The chemical pesticides that are sprayed onto a plant can be removed by washing and rinsing it. A pesticide protein or molecule that is part of a plant's structure cannot easily be removed since it is part of the cell. It is unknown whether such genetically engineered pesticide proteins can have harmful effects in people.
