ISAE 3000 allows public accountants to provide two levels of assurance, called a “reasonable assurance” or
“limited assurance” engagement. A public accountant that performs a reasonable assurance engagement
provides a positive form expression of the public accountant’s conclusion with respect to the criteria. A
public accountant that performs a limited assurance engagement provides a negative form expression of the
public accountant’s conclusion with respect to the criteria.
