Burnout affects work performance and quality of life in a number of ways. At work, individuals experiencing burnout are likely to make more errors, perform poorly, have difficulty completing tasks, and lose interest in their work. Individuals may also become more irritable and develop physical symptoms including fatigue, frequent infections, gastrointestinal disorders, headaches, or aches and pains.
