Explain the relationship between cross-tabulation as a descriptive statistic and statistical significance as an inferential statistic.
What will be an ideal response?
Cross-tabulation allows us to organize the data and start to establish a relationship between the variables. By using cross-tabulation tables, we begin to engage in a conversation about what the data are telling us. From here, the data need to be interpreted to decide exactly what the relationship between the variables is--this is where we start to use statistical significance.
