Provide a simple summary of how we conduct a one-sample t-test using statistical software.

What will be an ideal response?

Statistical software packages will calculate the estimated standard error and sample t score for us. Most software packages also provide the exact p value that corresponds to the sample t score, allowing researchers to compare the p value with their ? level to make their decision. When we use statistical software such as SPSS to conduct a one-sample t-test, the output provides the exact p value for our sample t score. We can then compare the p with our ? level to make a decision about the null hypothesis.
