Duress consists of unlawful pressure on a person to do what the person would not otherwise have done. It includes force, threats of violence, physical restraint, and the like. The four-point test is to show: (1) that one was threatened (2) and that the threat caused a reasonable belief (3) that the only way of avoiding serious personal injury or death to oneself or others (4) was to commit the crime.
