Compare probable cause and reasonable suspicion.

What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary. Answer should indicate that probable cause is a higher standard and it is required to obtain a search or arrest warrant, conduct a search, or to make an arrest. Probable cause is the reasonable belief that contraband or evidence of a crime will be found or that a particular person committed a crime. Reasonable suspicion is a lower standard. The officer may have a handful of relatively weak arguments, but the totality of the circumstances supports a reasonable assumption that a crime is being committed. This standard is used for stops and frisks.
