Who is PEN1, and why have they been a long lasting movement?

What will be an ideal response?

Racist groups have developed a youth subculture based on hate rock. One such group, Public Enemy Number 1 (PEN1), is healthy and growing. PEN1 grew from the punk rock scene in southern California in the 1980s. It became the largest skinhead group in the nation. Freilich and colleagues said that it had 400 members in 2009 and that it was growing. Many law enforcement officials estimate greater numbers today (Morlin, 2015). As PEN1 members were arrested and sentenced to prison for a variety of crimes, they formed an alliance with the Aryan Brotherhood, the nation's largest racist prison gang. Freilich and colleagues found commonalities among long-lasting movements such as PEN1 . Successful groups tend to have a strong core of centralized leadership. They raise money through crime and other activities, and they take advantage of political opportunities. These groups exhibit a sense of social stability, and they are cohesive.
