Define disparagement, and state why it is a problem that is to be avoided in health care practice

Disparagement is to belittle, or criticize the skill, knowledge, or qualifications of another professional. Modern health care is the practice of team medicine. Anything that brings discredit to other members of the health care team hurts the team as a whole and also the patients and communities we serve.
