List five important factors in participating in a job interview

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Look your best, wear appropriate clothing and accessories, and be well groomed. You should smile, offer a firm handshake, and remember the names of people to whom you are introduced. Apply your best interpersonal communication skills. Maintain your composure, and be confident and self-assured. Describe the skills and abilities you would bring to the job. Sit up straight, do not chew gum or bite your fingernails, and try to relax. Concentrate on each question and think before you answer. Put your best critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to work, and answer questions to the best of your ability. It is okay to ask questions, but avoid asking questions that are already answered in the printed material made available to you in advance. Give some thought to how you would respond to questions about pay and benefit requirements, just in case those types of questions are asked during your first interview. Follow up job interviews with a short thank you note.
