What will be an ideal response?

Some principles that are believed to aid memory and retention include the following:
Get a clear encoding of the material.
Be confidently prepared to learn, and use strategies to aid retention.
Organize information into meaningful connections (outlines, summaries, maps, notes, reflections, etc.) and build understanding.
Use memory devices, such as mnemonics, if you have trouble connecting material to be learned and prior knowledge.
Boost retention with overlearning, which continues after material has been learned.
Take breaks and rest. Sleep allows the brain to organize information.
Engage in effective practice and judicious review.
Self-test one's knowledge, using constructed responses.
