Paleontologists and biologists often argue about how humans evolved. What is their argument about, and why does
this dispute not undermine the scientific process? What will be an ideal response?
Although the fossil record of hominin evolution is far from complete, what does exist is well
documented. It is, however, the interpretation of that fossil record that precipitates the often
vigorous and sometimes acrimonious debates concerning our evolutionary history.
With the discovery of new hominin fossils, some questions are answered, and yet other new
ones arise, either confirming our previously held notions or forcing us to form new
hypotheses.
