What is the five point summary? What does each point represent?

What will be an ideal response?

The five point summary is a combination of the range and the interquartile range. It helps us to understand the distribution of cases, especially the extremes of a distribution, around the mean. The five point summary is usually given in brackets: {Q0, Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4}, where Q0 and Q4 represent the two endpoints of a range, Q1 and Q3 define the interquartile range, and Q2 is the median. The five points can also be presented in a box and whiskers plot.
