What parts of a dissolution decree are modifiable, and what parts are not modifiable? Why are some parts modifiable and others not?

What will be an ideal response?

Under dire circumstances, any portion of a decree might be modified, but under normal circumstances, spousal support can be modified if the court retains jurisdiction. Property division is nonmodifiable, and child support, custody and visitation are always modifiable in the best interest of the child.
