Describe formative and summative evaluation in regard to a specific children’s book

What will be an ideal response?

The answers to this will vary depending on what book is selected. The main concepts of the two types of evaluation should address the following:
Formative Evaluation – This includes ongoing evaluation from the planning through the sharing of a story. It is based on the concepts identified in the summative evaluation, but addresses the intermediate learning points leading to the overall objectives.
Summative Evaluation – This focuses on the overall intent of the story sharing and includes learning objectives and the criteria for making a judgement about whether the objectives have been achieved. It can focus on both content and attitudes/emotional responses related to the story.
