The accurate prediction of criminal behavior is not yet possible, but profiles are sometimes used by police for targeting suspects. Under what circumstances is the use of a profile to take police action morally permissible?
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Profile sometimes have proved to be very helpful for police in catching criminals. Most of the crimes are committed by persons who are criminals by profession. The whole or some part of the crime network is always inter connected. Police suspects the involvement of a particular criminal in a crime by the type of profile he has. So if a crime of that profile has taken place then it is perfectly normal for police to enquire that criminal and take legal actions against him if possible. He may be involved with the criminals who have committed the crime.
