personality organization and the dynamics of personality development that guides psychoanalysis. No free will.
Biological-
We are a consequence of our genetics and physiology. No hope of change-- "you are merely a product of your genetics"
Behavioral-
learning is based on the idea that all behaviors are acquired through conditioning. You can change your actions (which you learned from your environment) through intentional effort.
Cognitive behavioral-
describes how people's perceptions of situations influence their emotions and actions. Combo of biological and behavioral-- just addresses how one affects the other. Coincides most with Scripture.
Diathesis/Stress-
Attempts to explain a disorder or its trajectory as an effect of stress.
