Below are partial results of chemical sampling of one stream. What do these results tell you about the suitability of this stream as fish habitat? What are likely causes for these values?

What will be an ideal response?

Fecal coliform bacteria levels may be from animal waste or may be a result of contamination from human waste sewage. The high levels of Nitrate may be a result of synthetic fertilizers entering the water via run-off. The low levels of DO may be a result of high levels of sewage or waste. This stream would not be conducive to sustaining a fish habitat.
