Discuss the primary activities in the workforce development domain used by the states that received funding from the Administration for Children and Families focused on Integrating Trauma-Informed and Trauma-Focused Practice in Child Protective Service Delivery.
What will be an ideal response?
One strategy that was consistent across all five state initiatives was the extensive training on trauma. This includes pre-service and in-service training for behavioral health staff, staff from the child welfare, juvenile justice, education, and other service systems. Four of the initiatives used the Child Welfare Trauma Training Toolkit. Another strategy was the use of teams and coaches to support the knowledge transfer to practice. Finally, another strategy used has been attending to staff wellness and secondary traumatic stress.
