Keeping the soil in golf greens on the wet side could lead to what kinds of disease problems?
What will be an ideal response?
The most serious would probably be Pythium and Rhizoctonia diseases in new seedings or established turf. Other less important diseases might include certain "Helminthosporium" diseases, red thread, summer patch and necrotic ring spot, take-all patch, southern blight, downy mildew or yellow tuft, spring dead spot, bermudagrass decline, snow molds, and slime molds.

(a) As explained in Sec. 10.10, a ternary alloy may have a ternary eutectic point, at which four phases may coexist. Describe the nature of these four phases. How many degrees of freedom are there when the four phases coexist in a ternary alloy? What is the meaning of this?
(b) A ternary alloy may also have a three?phase field. How many degrees of freedom will there be in the three?phase field? Explain the significance of this number of degrees of freedom. (c) In a ternary alloy a single?phase field may also occur. How many degrees of freedom will it contain?
What are the three main manufacturing processes used to make up the construction/material used in pistons?
What will be an ideal response?
A sinusoid x(t) = Am cos(2? fmt) modulates a sinusoidal carrier Ac cos(2? fct) in a double-sideband transmitted-carrier (DSBTC) system of the type illustrated in Figure E-12. If Am = 1, fm = 10, Ac = 4, fc = 1000 and m = 1, find the numerical value of the total signal power in y(t) at the carrier frequency Pc and the numerical value of the total signal power in y(t) in its sidebands Ps .
