Describe the condition called atherosclerosis, and discuss how diet can aid in the prevention of the disease.

What will be an ideal response?

Atherosclerosis results from the buildup of fatty materials on the inside walls of the arteries. The smaller diameters of the arteries make it difficult for blood to flow through. This can lead to a stroke, heart attack, or both. Limiting fats and certain kinds of cholesterol can aid in the prevention of the disease.
