A hospice is an inpatient facility (or hospice services can also be provided in the patient's home) for patients who are dying from a terminal illness, and their physicians have certified that they have less than 6 months to live. Hospice services include palliative care (supportive medical and nursing care to keep the patient comfortable), pain management, counseling, and emotional support for the patient and family.
