Answer: Answers may vary; however, students should list the following strategies used by strategic comprehenders: always have a goal in mind, anticipate and clarify ideas presented in the text, actively monitor what they are reading, note pieces of text which are vague and confusing, apply learning strategies to clarify vague and confusing portions of text, and continuously reflect on the text. Students should also briefly describe whether they recognize utilizing these same strategies when reading, and whether some of them have become second nature.
