"ICIC" communications stand for Interesting, Clear, Informative, and Concise. The four steps for writing "ICIC" communications are the following:
1) Begin your presentation with an ASOAP analysis which reflects understanding your audience, subject matter, objective to be accomplished, angle or motivating factors for the target audience, and publication source or style;
2) Outline and collect resources for writing the paper;
3) Write the first draft; and
4) Polish your paper by evaluating the document for grammatical structure, spelling, visual appeal, consistency of text, appropriateness, and readability. Peer review and evaluation are highly recommended to gain additional perspectives.
