What are the purposes of the ENUM and TRIP protocols?
What will be an ideal response?
The IETF has proposed two protocols that correspond to the mappings needed for the two
subproblems:
? ENUM (short for E.164 NUMbers) solves the problem of converting an E.164 telephone
number into a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI).
? TRIP (Telephone Routing over IP) solves the problem of finding a user in an integrated
network. A location server or other network element can use TRIP to advertise routes.
