Mention some of the challenges of the twenty-first century

What will be an ideal response?

The twenty-first century challenges people to understand more about how individuals learn, communicate, and do business in a global environment or what Thomas Friedman calls the "flat world." It is difficult to predict the world in which students will take part as adults. Connectivity, communication, and collaboration have become this century's reading, 'riting, and 'rithmetic; three Cs to replace the traditional three Rs of the twentieth century. Of course, the three Rs are required to become adept at the three Cs. Yet the world into which teachers must guide their students is more complex and demanding than ever before. Clearly, to teach in this environment, teachers must be students of history and of current affairs and able to keep pace with constant change.
