Is the force of gravity the same over the Earth's surface? Explain why or why not

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: The acceleration due to gravity is not the same over the planet. It is less at the equator than at the poles because the planet bulges out farther at the equator. This oblate spheroid shape is the result of rotation.
