The spread of technology and ideas have helped to reduce hunger and malnutrition. Food production has increased with the use of fertilizers, irrigation and pesticides. Food has become cheaper. Better information about health related issues has been made available to people all over the world. Important information about infectious diseases has helped to reduce the number of cases. Vaccines have also become cheaper and are distributed throughout the developing world by various health agencies. New ways for providing access to clean water are also being discovered.
