There are a number of ways that prejudice and bigotry may manifest in individuals. Compare and contrast two approaches: (1) frustration-aggression and (2) projection. How are these two approaches similar and how are they different?

What will be an ideal response?

The ideal answer should include:
1. Frustration and aggression is displaced onto a scapegoat. When this displacement is not limited to one person but is extended to include all similar people, it may produce prejudice.
2. Projection is attributing the unwanted self traits onto others, often members of another group. This behavior makes it possible for a person to reject and condemn the traits without rejecting and condemning themselves.
