Explain important aspects of the human meaning for one of the following body regions: buttocks, hips, legs, or feet
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: The buttocks can be a sensitive area for some clients, so it important for the practitioner to be aware of possible issues and approach this region with care and sensitivity.
For example, like the breasts, the buttocks have been sexualized by Western culture and some clients may not wish to be touched in this area. Clients who are overweight may find their buttocks and hips a source of embarrassment, so again, be sensitive to all possible issues. When massaging this region, make sure not to expose the genitals or gluteal cleft. Careful and respectful draping techniques will help ease a client's anxiety and aid relaxation.
