Compare and contrast facilitated and active transport
What will be an ideal response?
ANSWER: Both of these have in common that they move substances across cell membranes via
transmembrane proteins. However, facilitated transport can only move substances down their
concentration gradient and does not require an input of energy. On the other hand, active
transport requires energy. and moves substances against their concentration gradients.
